It’s important to understand the difference between sterling silver and silver-plated items when considering value.

• Sterling silver is solid silver (typically marked “Sterling,” “925,” or with British hallmarks) and is what we actively purchase as collectible and precious metal items.
   
• Silver-plated dishware and serving pieces only have a very thin layer of silver over a base metal such as copper and do not carry the same collectible or material value.
   

We do not purchase silver-plated dishware, trays, or hollowware.
However, we do buy complete flatware sets and bulk amounts of silver-plated forks and spoons that are not heavily damaged.
